Legacy Gift

Home › Donate › Legacy Gift

legacy iconWhat do you want to leave the world? How can you continue to make a positive impact after you’re gone?
We invite you to make a legacy gift – a planned future donation – symbolizing your commitment to helping your friends and neighbors age in place with purpose and dignity. Consider including a bequest to the Shepherd’s Center in your will or trust. Another option is to name SC as a beneficiary of a retirement account or life insurance policy. Become an esteemed member of the Shepherd’s Center Legacy Society. While supporting your community for years to come, your legacy gift to SC can provide tax savings or allow part of your estate to avoid the probate process. Your financial advisor or attorney can discuss your options to determine the best plan for you.

Meet John and Barbara Tate, SC founders and Legacy Society members, as they discuss the benefits of supporting the Shepherd’s Center.

The Shepherd’s Center Legacy Society brochure offers information to help you plan your own legacy gift. Please contact SC Executive Director at director@scnova.org or (703) 260-9568 for more details.

Giving Tuesday 2025

Support SCNOVA This December 2

Giving Tuesday is December 2, 2025. Your support will make a powerful difference in the lives of older adults who rely on SCNOVA for free transportation to doctors’ appointments, grocery stores, banks, and other essential destinations. Through these programs, many isolated older adults can participate in community events, attend social lunches, and make new friends. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps enrich the lives of our neighbors and ensures that no older adult feels alone.
